Twin Peaks Celebration with Pie, Coffee, and at the CCA Cinema

In the second half of February, fans of the cult TV series Twin Peaks by David Lynch have their own holiday in Toruń. The highlight will be two special film screenings.

If you are fans of Twin Peaks, you know perfectly well that the end of February has a symbolic meaning. This is when Agent Dale Cooper arrives in the titular town, launching the investigation into Laura Palmer’s death and at the same time opening one of the most important chapters in television history. The series, which debuted in 1990, revolutionized the way crime stories were told over the course of its two seasons. More than 25 years later, it returned with a third season, once again electrifying audiences around the world with its ambiguity, atmosphere of mystery, and distinctive Lynchian humor,” write the organizers of the Toruń event.

It was from the initiatives of fans of the cult series that the tradition of the annual Twin Peaks celebration was born—an opportunity to jointly celebrate the cinematic world created by David Lynch and Mark Frost. As the organizers remind us, an obligatory element of the Toruń celebrations is the classic series set: cherry pie and coffee, which Agent Cooper famously called “damn good.”

The culmination of the celebrations in Toruń will be two special screenings at the cinema of the Centre of Contemporary Art Znaki Czasu, located at 13 Wały Gen. Sikorskiego Street:

  • Tuesday, 24 February, 6:00 p.m. – screening of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me. This is a prequel to the Twin Peaks series from 1992, focusing on the last days of Laura Palmer’s life. The screening will be preceded by a lecture by film critic and scholar Dr. Radosław Osiński on the work of David Lynch and interpretations of the series.
  • Thursday, 26 February, 6:00 p.m. – screening of Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces, a collection of scenes deleted from the film that expand and complement the story of the characters from Lynch’s series set among the forests of Washington State.

Tickets for both screenings (PLN 14 and PLN 16) can be purchased at the CSW box office and on its website.

From 19 to 25 February, selected cafés and restaurants in Toruń will be offering a Lynchian film set consisting of cherry pie and coffee.

The Twin Peaks celebration in Toruń is organized by the Tumult Foundation and the Camerimage Festival, in cooperation with the Centre of Contemporary Art Znaki Czasu. David Lynch visited our region on the occasion of the cinematography art festival, whose partner for many years has been the Kujawsko-Pomorskie regional government. In 2017, he attended the opening of Camerimage in Bydgoszcz, and the Centre of Contemporary Art in Toruń presented an exhibition of his artistic work titled Silence and Dynamism, which at the time was the largest exhibition of his visual art. Lynch opened it in person.

The year 2026 is a moment of special reflection—we are marking the first anniversary of the passing of David Lynch, a creator who forever changed the language of contemporary cinema and television. His artistic courage, uncompromising imagination, and extraordinary visual sensitivity remain an inspiration for future generations of creators and audiences around the world,” the organizers remind us.

The famous American director, actor, producer and screenwriter, musician, and painter passed away in January last year at the age of 79. During the Camerimage 2025 festival, a special retrospective of David Lynch’s films was held, including works such as Duran Duran: Unstaged, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, and Lost Highway.
