An Official Working Visit to Sępólno Krajeńskie

Marshal Piotr Całbecki is visiting Sępólno Krajeńskie today (15 January), where he met with representatives of local government authorities, visited residents of the Care and Residential Centre, and took part in a meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Stefan Krajewski.

The head of the region met with MP Iwona Kozłowska, Sępólno County Governor Jarosław Tadych, Mayor of Sępólno Krajeńskie Waldemar Stupałkowski, Sośno Commune Head Piotr Dobrzański, Mayor of Kamień Krajeński Natalia Marciniak, and Mayor of Więcbork Waldemar Kuszewski. The discussions focused, among other things, on the most important investments in this part of the region – both ongoing and planned. Projects discussed included the construction of bypass roads for Sępólno Krajeńskie and Więcbork, passenger rail services and bus connections within the county, and the development of cycling infrastructure.

“The towns and communes of Sępólno County have made good use of the opportunities associated with the flow of European funds. The scope of projects – both those completed under previous operational program perspectives and those planned under the current European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze – is impressive. I take my hat off to the local authorities, who wisely plan the development of the communes and the county,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

Marshal Piotr Całbecki also visited the care and residential centre opened last year, an example of a modern form of support for people who are not fully independent due to age. The facility, operating under the Social Services Centre in Sępólno Krajeńskie, provides both short-term (several-hour) and multi-day care services. Residents have access to living rooms, rehabilitation facilities, and recreational spaces.

In Sępólno County, with support from the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021-2027, investments worth nearly PLN 70 million are being implemented or are underway (PLN 55 million of which is EU co-financing).

The total value of support from the previous EU funding perspectivethe Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020for Sępólno County exceeded PLN 100 million. Key projects included the modernization of the market square in Sępólno Krajeńskie, the renovation and equipping of the auditorium-cinema hall at the Centre for Culture and Art, improvements to water and sewage management in Runowo Krajeńskie and Wąwelno, and the construction of a nature education centre of the Krajeński Landscape Park in Więcbork.
