Admired by critics and lovers of contemporary art and regarded as the most important cultural event of 2025, the exhibition of works by the outstanding American artist Bill Viola can be viewed for only two more weeks at the Centre of Contemporary Art “Znaki Czasu” (CSW) on Gen. Sikorski Embankments and at the headquarters of the Tumult Foundation in Toruń’s New Town Market Square.

“Bill Viola, a pioneer in the use of video techniques in contemporary art, has been providing us with powerful emotional experiences for forty-five years through his artistic work. The exhibition Visions of Time features extraordinary installations that confirm the artist’s international reputation. I encourage everyone to visit the exhibition and experience these remarkable visual and spiritual impressions,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The weekly magazine Polityka named the exhibition the most important cultural event of 2025 in the “gallery” category, writing: “Rarely do we host exhibitions in Poland by artists of this calibre, featuring works that leave such a lasting impression on both the memory and the heart.”

Bill Viola has created numerous groundbreaking films and video installations that engage audiences on multiple levels—intellectual, emotional, and sensory. His works, presented in museums and galleries around the world, address fundamental questions of human existence. Experiencing Bill Viola’s art is a deeply spiritual encounter and a journey into the realm of metaphysical reflection.

Based on philosophical studies and analyses of works by the great masters of painting, the American artist’s moving images—created using video techniques—fill the exhibition spaces of CSW and the Tumult Foundation, specially arranged for the purposes of the Visions of Time exhibition.

The event, organized by CSW and the Tumult Foundation, is co-financed by the self-government of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region.
