“Szklarnia” National Film Festival 2026

The “Szklarnia” National Film Festival will take place from March 5 to 8, 2026, at the Regional Centre for Cultural Animation in Toruń (WOAK) in Toruń. Registration is open until January 5. The festival welcomes both newcomers to filmmaking and those who have already created their first short productions.

OFF Szklarnia has been organized by WOAK since 2024. Its mission is to support young filmmakers at the beginning of their artistic journey. The festival combines film screenings, workshops, and meetings with industry experts. Rather than focusing on competition and awards, it emphasizes skill development, exchange of experiences, and support for creators. It provides a nurturing environment where debutants and filmmakers with initial experience can showcase their films, discuss them, and receive constructive feedback from professionals.

The Szklarnia program includes screenings of films selected from submissions across Poland. These include narrative films, documentaries, animations, experimental works, and other short artistic forms. The festival also offers meetings and discussions with filmmakers, film workshops, and accompanying social events.

In 2026, the workshop program will cover various areas of film production, including scriptwriting, sound, lighting, and cinematography.

The organizers invite participants from all over Poland aged 15 and above, both those beginning their filmmaking journey and those with some short film experience. The festival accepts short films up to 40 minutes, including narrative films, documentaries, reports, animations, experimental films, or other unconventional visual forms (excluding music videos).

The “Szklarnia” National Film Festival will be held from March 5 to 8, 2026, at the Regional Centre for Cultural Animation in Toruń, Kościuszki Street 75-77. The festival partner is the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Regional Self-Government.
