Christmas Workshops in the Glow of the Marshal’s Christmas Tree
In the midst of the pre-holiday bustle and preparations for Christmas, together with Marshal Piotr Całbecki we invite you to take a moment of rest. This Sunday (14 December) we invite you to the event “Christmas with the Marshal”, which will be an opportunity for shared family fun.
“Soon we will celebrate the most beautiful holidays in our tradition, filled with love and family warmth,” says Marshal Piotr Całbecki. “May these December days pass for you in health and peace and bring relief from everyday hardships.”
At exactly 3 p.m., a festive parade will set off from the Nicolaus Copernicus monument on the Old Town Market Square and, accompanied by the brass band from Świecie, will make its way through the old town streets to Teatralny Square. In front of the Marshal’s Office, Christmas carols will be performed by:
- the brass band from Świecie
- Asia Czajkowska
- Maciej Rumiński
- Bartek Staszkiewicz
- Sara Pach
As tradition goes, children will be able to take part in workshops making Christmas tree ornaments and holiday decorations from ecological materials, and for those with a sweet tooth there will be gingerbread-baking following the traditional marshal’s recipe.
The workshops will be prepared by: the Gallery and Center of Children’s Creative Arts, the Centre of Modernity Młyn Wiedzy, and the We Are For You Foundation.
The highlight of the event will be the switching on of the lights on the Christmas tree. The tree arrived in Toruń from Raciniewo and was chosen—amid a beautiful winter scenery—by Marshal Piotr Całbecki together with children from Chełmno County.
