We Have Chosen Our Christmas Tree

In a truly wintry landscape in the forest in Raciniewo (Chełmno County, Toruń Forest District), Marshal Piotr Całbecki and children from schools in Chełmno County selected today (27 November) the Christmas tree that will stand in front of the Marshal’s Office of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region in the first days of December.

“Every year we come to Raciniewo to look for that one unique, most beautiful Christmas tree in the region. Children never get it wrong, and I’m convinced that the tree they have chosen—just like in previous years—will be admired not only in our region. I’m glad that the Christmas tree will bring joy to the residents of our voivodeship as they celebrate the holidays with their loved ones,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The tree was selected together with pupils from the School Complex in Unisław, the Primary School in Grzybno, the Primary School in Kokocko, the Non-Public Primary School in Bruki Unisławskie, and the Jan Slaski Primary School in Trzebcz Szlachecki (Chełmno County). The children presented the Marshal with Christmas wishes and artwork.

The event was also attended by Włodzimierz Pamfil, Director of the Regional Directorate of State Forests in Toruń, and Bogusław Kashyna, Head Forester of the Toruń Forest District.

Honorata Galczewska, spokesperson for the Regional Directorate of State Forests, spoke to the children about ecology and Christmas traditions.

The spruce tree, sourced from the State Forests, will be decorated in early December in front of the Marshal’s Office, and soon it will shine in its full glory.

We warmly invite all residents—especially children—to join us for the festive lighting ceremony.
