Sports and dance classes, programming and robotics, art workshops, trips to cinemas and theaters – 70 million PLN from the Marshal’s Civic Budget is allocated for projects for children and youth. Grants are awarded through local action groups. Nearly 25 million PLN is already in play! Today (November 18), a meeting dedicated to these initiatives was held at the Powstańcy Wielkopolscy Agricultural Education Centre in Bielice (Mogilno County). Dariusz Kurzawa, a member of the Regional Executive Board, spoke with the youth.

Activities for children and youth

“I am convinced that the emerging clubs will create spaces that meet the expectations of children and youth and inspire them to further development,” emphasizes Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The project finances three types of initiatives:

• Establishment and operation of educational youth clubs (with activities tailored to the interests, skills, and personal needs of young people, e.g., artistic, sports, IT, or local culture and identity);
• Developing talents and improving skills leading to specific educational goals (e.g., preparation for participation in a science competition);
• Projects aimed at acquiring skills useful for choosing educational paths and future careers (e.g., workshops on endangered professions and regional traditions).

Local action groups have so far signed grant agreements totaling 24 million PLN. Thanks to these funds, in the municipalities covered by the LGD Associations—such as the Dobrzyń North Region, Świecie County, Radziejów County, Trzy Doliny, Vistula-Terra Culmensis, Podgrodzie Toruńskie, Pałuki, Ziemia Gotyku, Bory Tucholskie, Pojezierze Brodnickie, Krajna and Pałuki, Ziemia Kujawska, Bydgoszcz “Dwie Rzeki”, Toruń, Dolina Drwęcy, Chełmno, Czarnoziem na Soli, Dorzecza Zgłowiączki, Dobrzyń South, Inowrocław, Brodnica, Włocławek, Ziemia Wąbrzeska, and Nasza Krajna—277 youth clubs offering interesting activities have been or will soon be established.

The maximum funding under our regional program European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021–2027 is 95% of the project value, with a maximum grant of 100,000 PLN.

Grants for local social projects

In the current financial perspective, local action groups – partnerships implementing the Marshal’s Civic Budget together with the regional government – have 50 million EUR for social policy projects.

The first group of projects focuses on activities for youth, while the second targets support for seniors.

There are 27 local action groups in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region, covering the entire region. They support grassroots initiatives that increase social activity, develop local services and infrastructure, create new jobs, protect the environment, and preserve cultural heritage. The 2021–2027 financial perspective is another period in which local action groups implement the Marshal’s Civic Budget in cooperation with the regional self-government.
