The Marshal’s Development Fund Supports Healthcare

The management teams of four medical institutions received today (17 November) at the Marshal’s Office their agreements for preferential assistance loans granted by the Marshal’s Kujawsko-Pomorski Fundusz Rozwoju (Kujawsko-Pomorskie Development Fund, KPFR). The ceremony was attended by Marshal Piotr Całbecki, Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska, Executive Board Member Marek Wojtkowski, KPFR President Kamila Radziecka, and Regional Assembly Member Sławomir Kopyść.

Today’s agreements are an investment in the health of our region’s residents. County hospitals play an important role within the public healthcare network and are often the ‘first-contact hospital’. The preferential, in large part cancellable loans offered by the Marshal’s Kujawsko-Pomorski Development Fund will enable the implementation of projects aimed at modernising wards and developing high-level medical services,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The Independent Public Healthcare Institution in Rypin will allocate its 5 million PLN loan to expand a building for the needs of the palliative care ward and the long-term care unit. Loans of the same amount were also granted to the Tuchola Hospital, which is beginning reconstruction works to improve conditions in its internal medicine ward, and to the Chełmża County Hospital in Toruń County, which plans to complete renovation and reconstruction of a similar ward by mid-next year. The fourth beneficiary is the Provincial Outpatient Clinic for Mental Health in Bydgoszcz, whose KPFR loan (3.3 million PLN) will serve as its own contribution for the construction of a five-storey mental health centre building financed under the regional programme European Funds for Kujawsko-Pomorskie.
