After a thorough modernization, the mental health clinic: Voivodeship Specialist Hospital in Włocławek will reopen today (November 6). During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the regional government will be represented by Marek Wojtkowski, a member of the Regional Executive Board. Meanwhile, work continues as planned on the construction of the hospital’s new main building — progress has reached 30%, with completion scheduled for spring 2027.

The extensive renovation of the clinic’s premises at 15 Lunewil Street — combined with modernization and revolutionary changes in spatial functionality and interior design — was made possible through cooperation with the TVN Foundation. The foundation covered all costs (760,000 PLN for the project, documentation, and construction). The result is impressive — the interiors are welcoming, and patients can use a “Kindloteka” (a Kindle-based reading corner) in the waiting room. Hospital director Dariusz Szczepański said this summer that the goal from the beginning was to create a place where patients would feel safe.

The new five-story main building under construction in the hospital’s main complex — the future heart of the facility — will house the admissions area and emergency department, main operating block, maternity unit, intensive care unit, inpatient wards, endoscopy lab, hospital pharmacy, and sterilization unit. According to current standards, it will also include a helipad for the Air Ambulance Service.

Construction teams are currently continuing masonry, installation, and finishing work, including the installation of partition walls, reinforcement of walls and ceilings for medical equipment, façade panel installation, plastering, flooring, spray painting, and sheet metal work under the helicopter landing pad. “I’m pleased that the investment is progressing at full speed,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki in October.
