Meeting of the Council of Village Leaders

The Kujawsko-Pomorskie Council of Village Leaders held its third meeting yesterday (November 4) in Toruń. This advisory body supports the Marshal of the Region in shaping regional rural development policy. The agenda included, among other items, elections and the presentation of appointment letters to new members.

The meeting of rural leaders from across the region took place in the representative interiors of the Dąmbski Palace. Discussions focused on the village fund as a tool for local development, particularly in the context of upcoming legal changes (in September, Parliament adopted an amendment to the Local Government Act and the Village Fund Act). The guest of the session was Grażyna Jałgos-Dębska, Vice President of the National Association of Village Leaders and a recognized expert in this field.

“It is extremely important that village leaders are engaged in implementing development policy at the local level. The problems of rural areas are well known – including depopulation and increasingly difficult conditions for our agricultural producers. Our goal is to develop practical solutions through dialogue with local communities. The Council represents the interests of all village communities in the region, and therefore all residents of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie countryside,” emphasized Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
