FEdKP Agreements: Tourist Infrastructure, Rehabilitation Outpatient Facilities, Preschool Education, Support for Emergency Services
From our regional program European Funds for Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region (FEdKP), we have just launched funding for 21 project financing agreements worth a total of PLN 18 million. The largest share of the funds is allocated to investments supporting the development of outpatient rehabilitation care and initiatives promoting local tourism. The largest individual grant goes to Inowrocław County and concerns preschool education. The current level of contract implementation within FEdKP stands at 55 percent, meaning PLN 4.305 billion has already been committed. Representatives of the beneficiaries met today (October 29) with Marshal Piotr Całbecki, President of the Regional Parliament Elżbieta Piniewska, Vice-President Katarzyna Lubańska, and Regional Board Member Marek Wojtkowski.
“The implementation of our regional program is progressing at a good pace — we are currently fourth in the country in this respect,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki before the meeting with journalists.
Referring to the allocation of the remaining FEdKP funds (PLN 3.5 billion), he emphasized the particular importance of dual-use investments, which can serve both civilian and defense purposes. (The reallocation of funds for such projects — aimed at enhancing residents’ safety in broadly defined crisis situations — is taking place as part of the ongoing second stage of the mid-term review of regional programs.)
Speaking about the ongoing debate in Brussels on the future of EU cohesion policy, the Marshal firmly opposed the European Commission’s current push for its centralization after 2027.
Under the FEdKP resources just launched for the development of tourist infrastructure, Chełmno will receive PLN 3.3 million to build a recreation center by Lake Starogradzkie, while Chełmża in Toruń County will receive PLN 1.4 million for comprehensive development of the area around Lake Chełmżyńskie (lighting, renovation of a pedestrian and bicycle path, and creation of a nature trail). Grants for rehabilitation outpatient facilities are being directed to both public and private healthcare providers. Beneficiaries include, among others: Novamed Rehabilitation Centre in Brodnica (which will modernize and equip its facilities at a cost of nearly PLN 1 million), Revita Rehabilitation Clinic in Toruń (which is preparing to purchase modern rehabilitation and physiotherapy equipment and expand its IT infrastructure) and Regional Specialist Hospital in Grudziądz (which, after receiving new equipment, plans to implement innovative therapeutic methods).
Also noteworthy is a project by the Inowrocław Municipality, which provides additional educational activities for 180 preschoolers (attending 17 branches of a municipal kindergarten in six localities) and a training program for 25 preschool teachers. The total project cost is nearly PLN 3 million, with a grant exceeding PLN 2.5 million.
