More Trains on November 1
Visiting the graves of loved ones and the related family gatherings are, of course, the main reasons for travel on All Saints’ Day. In response to residents’ expectations, on Saturday (November 1), in addition to the regular weekend trains, we will operate extra services running according to the weekday schedule.
– On this special day, we will make it easier for residents to get around. On November 1, 221 trains will run on the Kuyavian-Pomeranian tracks. I am convinced that many residents of the region will choose rail as a convenient, safe, and in many cases faster option, – emphasizes Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
On Monday (November 10), the day before National Independence Day, trains will run according to the weekend timetable.
Rail Fleet
Seventy-five percent of the trains used by carriers to operate regional passenger connections in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship belong to the regional government. We currently have thirty-three such vehicles and are systematically investing in the purchase of additional modern trains to replace older units. In 2027, seven new modern electric trains manufactured by Pesa in Bydgoszcz will enter service. The cost of the seven train sets ordered by the regional government is 329 million PLN.
Affordable Tickets
This year, the regional government subsidizes regional passenger transport with 200 million PLN. We also cover the costs of railway infrastructure access and station fees, allocating 33 million PLN annually from the voivodeship’s budget for this purpose.
Rail Closer to Residents
At the request of the voivodeship marshal, and taking into account the changing settlement network in our region, PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe is modernizing railway infrastructure to make it easier for passengers to use our regional train connections.
