“Let this Congress mark the beginning of a new chapter, in which the cultural heritage of Kujawsko-Pomorskie will not only be preserved but also created and developed in innovative ways, with the future in mind,” said Deputy Marshal Zbigniew Ostrowski during the opening of the 3rd Congress of Culture.

The two-day event (October 22–23), organized by the Regional Center for Cultural Animation, brings together one hundred cultural animators from across the region. The Congress is held under the honorary patronage of Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

“Today, in an era of rapid change, culture can serve as a compass. It can teach creative thinking, but also empathy and sensitivity toward others. It can connect generations, build community, and give hope. For this to happen, it must be alive—and above all, accessible and inclusive. It must respond to the needs of both city dwellers and residents of small towns. That’s why this Congress is so important—because here, among practitioners, experts, local government representatives, and residents of the region, we can collectively reflect on how to shape a cultural policy that is bold, wise, and future-oriented,” added Deputy Marshal Ostrowski.

Held at Młyny Kultury under the motto “Culture of the Future – The Future of Culture,” the Congress provides participants with a space for sharing experiences and inspiration about the future of culture in the region. The program includes presentations by cultural animators and managers, workshops led by experts, and discussion panels.

On Wednesday (October 22), the Golden Millstones Gala of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Cultural Animation Awards will take place, with honors granted in five categories:

• Cultural Animator of the Year
• Cultural Manager
• Cultural Animation Hope
• Patron of Culture
• Team
