FEdKP Agreements Worth 100 Million PLN

The Regional Children’s Hospital in Bydgoszcz, which began construction of a state-of-the-art Organ Diagnostics Center this spring, is among the beneficiaries of our regional program European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze. Today, representatives of these beneficiaries collected funding agreements at the Marshal’s Office. The total value of the support just launched amounts to 100 million PLN. In medicine, there are no completed projects, which is why hospitals—especially the most important ones in the region—must be constantly modernized. This means purchasing the latest-generation medical equipment and apparatus, as well as expanding hospital complexes. The investment in the WSD complex is another step in the development of a facility that has for years been one of the best of its kind in the country. The Organ Diagnostics Center, with two MRI laboratories, a cytometry laboratory, and endoscopy and ultrasound suites, will be located in a new three-story building currently under construction (3,500 square meters of usable floor space). As part of the same investment project, a two-level parking lot with 100 parking spaces will also be built.

The entire project will cost 84 million PLN. Today, the funding agreement was collected at the Marshal’s Office by Director Edward Hartwich and Deputy Director for Medical Services, Dr. Danuta Kurylak.

During today’s ceremony, the regional government was represented by Vice-Marshals Zbigniew Ostrowski and Aneta Jędrzejewska, Executive Board Member Marek Wojtkowski, as well as President of the Regional Parliament Elżbieta Piniewska and Vice- President of the Regional Parliament Katarzyna Lubańska. A total of 21 agreements were handed over. Among the beneficiaries are municipal and communal governments, medical entities, and enterprises. The financed projects include, among others, day-care centers for seniors, bicycle paths (in Zławieś Wielka municipality), urban greenery (in Toruń), energy modernization of buildings, and the purchase of medical equipment for outpatient care.

Speaking today, Vice-Marshal Zbigniew Ostrowski emphasized that the efficient implementation of FEdKP is possible thanks to the commitment and operational effectiveness of the entities applying for funds and delivering necessary, socially expected projects. From the entire FEdKP pool (7.8 billion PLN), we have already contracted over half of the funds (4 billion PLN), which gives us fourth place in the country.
