Regular passenger rail services to our most famous health resort will resume in December. Currently, the infrastructure on the Aleksandrów Kujawski – Ciechocinek line is undergoing a thorough renovation.

The seven-kilometre section of railway line number 245 from Aleksandrów Kujawski to Ciechocinek is being modernised by PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe, the company that administers the national railway network. The investment includes the replacement of 12,000 railway sleepers, the renovation of eight level crossings and the modernisation of platforms in Ciechocinek, Odolion and Aleksandrów Kujawski. The cost of the investment is PLN 47 million. Trains will be able to reach speeds of 120 kilometres per hour here.

PKP SA, the company managing railway properties, has set aside PLN 15 million to ensure that the station in Ciechocinek is renovated. Until the investment is completed, passengers will be served by a temporary station.

Passengers will travel from Aleksandrów Kujawski to Ciechocinek in 10 minutes, and from Toruń to Ciechocinek in half an hour. On the Aleksandrów Kujawski – Ciechocinek route operated by Polregio, people over 65 will pay only PLN 4, and in the first two months of the service, all passengers will pay only a symbolic PLN 1.
