The hospital in Włocławek: a new dynamic that must yield results

Intensive work is underway at the Provincial Specialist Hospital in Włocławek on the construction of the future main building of the hospital. At the same time, renovation work has begun on the mental health clinic belonging to the hospital. The facility is also investing in modern equipment – a new angiograph is already in operation in the haemodynamic laboratory, and surgeons, gynaecologists and urologists are testing various types of surgical robots before the planned purchase (this will be the first modern tool in this part of the region for precise, minimally invasive surgical procedures, after which patients recover more quickly) .

The solid renovation of the mental health clinic at 15 Lunewil Street, combined with modernisation and revolutionary changes in spatial functionality and interior design, is the result of the facility’s cooperation with the TVN Foundation. All costs (800,000 PLN for the design, documentation and work) are covered by the foundation. The director of the clinic, Dariusz Szczepański, emphasises that the aim is to create a place where patients feel safe. The investment should be completed within 120 days at the latest. Until then, the facility will operate in temporary emergency room premises (the same building, entrance from the back, clear signage has been provided for patients).

Budimex, which is carrying out the second stage of the hospital’s expansion, has two years to complete the work on the new five-storey main building of the Włocławek clinic, which will house the admissions room and hospital emergency department, the main operating theatre, maternity ward, intensive care unit, wards and endoscopy laboratory, as well as a hospital pharmacy and sterilisation room. A landing pad for air ambulance helicopters has already been installed on the roof.
