‘Przygrywka’ for the ninth time

The graduation performance Chłopki (Peasants), based on Joanna Kuciel-Frydryszak’s best-selling book, prepared by the Aleksander Sewruk Post-Secondary School of Acting at the Stefan Jaracz Theatre in Olsztyn, will open the 9th National Review of Diplomas and Musical Examinations of Higher Schools of Art Przygrywka on Tuesday (20 May). The festival programme, which takes place under the honorary patronage of Marshal Piotr Całbecki, features twelve performances prepared by young artists. The organiser is the Kujawsko-Pomorski Musical Theatre in Toruń.

 

Students of art schools from Łódź, Wrocław, Kraków, Olsztyn and Warsaw will perform on the stage of the Od Nowa club. Passes are still available for some of the performances.

 

The performances will be judged by a jury of Katarzyna Jamróz, Tomasz Lewandowski, Agnieszka Płoszajska and Anna Wołek.

 

The pre-party on Saturday (24 May) will be concluded with a gala, after which the audience will watch the biographical performance ‘Najszczęśliwszy dzień’ starring Barbara Garstecka.

 

Weekend cultural events

The Pomeranian Philharmonic invites to a concert by Anna Maria Jopek, who will be accompanied by Piotr Wojtasik (trumpet), Igor Pietraszewski (shakuhachi – Japanese simple flute, alto flute, bass clarinet) and Piotr Rojek (organ). The event will take place on Friday (16 May) at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, and on Sunday (18 May) at the Philharmonic Hall, a “Concerto for Two Orchestras” featuring Capella Bydgostiensis and the Silesian Chamber Orchestra conducted by Piotr Pławner. The musicians will perform compositions by Mozart, Dvořák and Penderecki.

 

From Friday (16 May), two new exhibitions can be seen at the headquarters of the Gallery and Centre for Children’s Artistic Creation in the New Town Square: ‘Respect the greenery’ and ‘Not far from the apple tree. Graphic works by Ryszard Balon and his students’.

 

The opening of the exhibitions at the Wozownia Art Gallery on Saturday (17 May): ‘Trap’ by Dariusz Milczarek and the 13th Triennale of Small Painting Forms.

 

Muzeum Ziemi Kujawskiej i Dobrzyńskiej in Włocławek invites you to the “Around Mozart” concert. On Friday (16 May), artists from the Polish Royal Opera will perform in the museum’s main building.
