Primary school pupils awarded for knowledge of local government

Martyna Mytowska from the School Complex in Karnków, Józefina Hofman from the Primary School in Jabłonowo Pomorskie and Wiktoria Kośmider from the Public Primary School in Tłuchowo won the XXII Regional Local Government Knowledge Competition for primary school pupils.

 

The final took place on 15 May at the Marshal’s Office in Toruń. Ten pupils competed against each other, representing seven institutions in our voivodship. The finalists were selected from among 44 participants representing 22 primary schools in the region.

 

The finalists first presented their works and then answered related questions posed to them by members of the organising committee. The competition entries dealt with the following topics:

1) ‘The female face of local government’, i.e. about women’s civic activity in the local government space.

2) How does local government help children in mental health crisis?

3) ‘When a child laughs, the whole world laughs’ J. Korczak – local government in the service of children’s rights.

 

The winners of the XXII Local Government Knowledge Competition for Primary Schools were:

1st place – Martyna Mytowska from the School Complex in Karnków (Lipno district) for her work ‘How does the Territorial Self-Government help children in mental crisis?’.

Second place – Józefina Hofman from the Primary School in Jabłonowo Pomorskie (Brodnica poviat) for her work ‘When a child laughs, the whole world laughs’ J. Korczak – local government in the service of children’s rights”.

Third place – Wiktoria Kośmider from the Public Elementary School in Tłuchowo (Lipno poviat) for the work ‘When a child laughs, the whole world laughs’ J. Korczak – local government in the service of children’s rights” .

 

Three distinctions were also awarded:

Igor Kotwicki from the Public Elementary School in Tłuchów (Lipno County) for his work ‘The Female Face of Local Government’, i.e. about women’s civic activity in the space of local government,

Marcin Seklecki from the Complex of Educational Institutions in Lubień Kujawski (Włocławek County), for the paper ‘The Female Face of Local Government’, i.e. on women’s civic activity in the space of local government,

Nikola Wiśniewska from the Complex of Schools in Karnków (Lipno district) for the paper “How does local government help children in mental crisis? ”

 

In addition, the jury composed of members of the Youth Parliament of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodship singled out the work of Lena Basa from the Primary School in Szczepanów (Mogileński poviat) ‘The Female Face of Local Government, i.e. about women’s civic activity in the space of local government’, the subject matter and form of which reflected to the greatest extent the way of seeing reality and its understanding characteristic of the young generation.

 

Financial prizes in the competition were awarded to both students and teachers, under whose guidance the young people prepared their competition entries and presentations.

 

This year’s edition of the competition is part of the Year of Children and Young People in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodship, established by the voivodship’s assembly.
