Let’s celebrate together under the white and red!
We invite you to the provincial celebrations of the Flag Day of the Republic of Poland (2 May) and the National Day of the Third of May. During the celebrations in Toruń, the regional government will be represented by Marshal Piotr Całbecki, in Bydgoszcz by Deputy Marshal Zbigniew Ostrowski.
Polish Flag Day
On Friday (2 May), an official military ceremony in Toruń will be held at the square named after the Officer School of the Polish Navy. The provincial celebration of Flag Day will be accompanied by a cycling rally ‘Under the white and red flag’ – starting on Bulwar Filadelfijski (Philadelphia Boulevard), finishing on Barbarka. After the rally, there will be a family picnic at the Barbarka Forest Settlement. In Bydgoszcz, celebrations will take place at the Old Market Square.
National Day of the Third of May
As part of the provincial celebrations of the 234th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of 3 May, a mass for the intention of the Homeland will be held at the Bydgoszcz Cathedral, followed by official ceremonies at the Old Market Square, and then a concert of a military band, horse drill demonstration and re-enactments of reconstruction groups.
In Toruń, on Saturday (3 May), a ceremony will take place to lay flowers under the plaque embedded in the façade of the Church of the Holy Spirit commemorating the civic demonstrations of 1 and 3 May 1982, followed by a Mass for the intention of the Homeland at the Cathedral of St John the Baptist and St John the Evangelist.
The organisers of the provincial celebrations of Polish Flag Day and Third May Day in Bydgoszcz and Toruń are the provincial government, the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodship governor, the municipal governments of both regional capitals and the Polish Army.
Deputy Marshal of the voivodeship Aneta Jędrzejewska and a member of the regional board Marek Wojtkowski will be present at the celebrations organised in Włocławek by the municipal government.
