Roundabout under construction in Golub-Dobrzyń

Construction of a new roundabout is underway in Golub-Dobrzyń. The traffic circle is being built at the intersection of Regional Road No. 534 and Sokołowska Street. It is one of several new projects implemented under our road safety improvement program.

“This is a long-awaited investment by the residents of Golub-Dobrzyń and drivers, which will improve safety and streamline traffic at this crucial intersection,” emphasizes Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The three-arm roundabout, with a diameter of 26 meters, will connect Regional Road No. 534 (Piłsudski Street and Rypińska Road) with the county road to Sokołowo (Sokołowska Street). The project also includes the reconstruction of sidewalks, drainage systems, electrical and telecommunication networks. A pedestrian and bicycle path has been planned on the northern side along the regional road. The northern island edge will be trimmed to allow passage of oversized vehicles.

Construction works, valued at 3.9 million PLN, are being carried out by PRD Lipno. The contractor is currently working on:

  • building stormwater drainage,
  • relocating telecommunications networks,
  • upgrading the water supply system,
  • resolving conflicts with other underground networks,
  • constructing a new road and sidewalk geometry in the northern section of the intersection.

The works are scheduled to be completed in the fall. The project is being carried out in cooperation with the Golub-Dobrzyń County and the municipality of the town of Golub-Dobrzyń, which co-financed the design documentation.

Further safety improvements are planned along Regional Road No. 534, which connects cities such as Grudziądz, Wąbrzeźno, Golub-Dobrzyń, and Rypin. Along the route, 37 pedestrian crossings and 3 bus stops will be illuminated.
