Millions for the Protection of Kujawsko-Pomorskie Monuments

This year, the regional self-government has allocated PLN 11.5 million to support conservation, restoration, and construction work on historic sites in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region. Grants have been awarded for over 200 projects across the region.

“Restored monuments are our shared success,” says Marshal Piotr Całbecki. “We must acknowledge the dedication of owners and caretakers who look after these sites daily, protect them from decay, and seek funding. The needs remain substantial, which is why we continue to support their efforts.”

The highest individual grant awarded this year amounted to PLN 200,000. Among the 213 funded projects, conservation and restoration work will be carried out on churches (including those in small towns), palace and manor complexes, tenement houses, and historic buildings listed in the register of monuments.

The grants, funded by EU resources from the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021-2027 and the regional budget, will support projects such as:

  • Conservation of the organ prospect in the Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Ciechocinek
  • Conservation of the gate tower of Bierzgłowski Castle (Toruń County)
  • Roof replacement of the Holy Trinity Church in Bydgoszcz
  • Restoration of the defensive walls in Golub-Dobrzyń
