60 million PLN – this is the value of the newly launched funds from our regional program, European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021-2027. Today (February 28), Marshal Piotr Całbecki, President of the Regional Parliament Elżbieta Piniewska, Regional Executive Board Member Marek Wojtkowski, and Councilor Sławomir Kopyść, along with MEP Krzysztof Brejza, who was a guest at the Marshal’s Office, met with representatives of the beneficiaries. The progress of contracting in the entire program is approaching 50%, with over 3 billion PLN already in play and the number of project financing agreements exceeding 500.

– Thank you for your commitment and for taking on the challenges of applying for EU funds. It is important to remember that the goal and outcome of these funded initiatives are to improve the quality of life for our region’s residents, said Marshal Piotr Całbecki to those gathered. Referring to the expected revision of EU policies in certain areas, he emphasized that residents should have a greater influence on shaping these policies. – Let’s take care of Europe and take responsibility for it! – he urged.

The largest share of funds today goes to the Świecie municipality in the Świecie district, receiving 11 million PLN for three investment projects: revitalization of the surroundings of the former Teutonic castle, construction of a retention reservoir in Sulnówko, and development of bicycle paths. Among the projects receiving support are also the construction of a new public library in Kolno (Chełmno municipality) with a 3 million PLN grant and the revitalization of the municipal park in Brodnica (2.5 million PLN grant).

Of the 41 FEdKP agreements handed over today, 18 relate to education and upbringing projects aimed at equalizing educational opportunities and improving general education standards, particularly in smaller centers, as well as vocational training and support for students with special educational needs. The funding covers teacher training workshops, additional and remedial classes for students, internships and apprenticeships for vocational school students, preschool class operations, and school lab equipment.
