Convention of Marshals in Cracow
Regional government member Marek Wojtkowski will represent Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodship during the Convention of Marshals of the Polish Voivodships, which is being held today and tomorrow (26-27 February) in Kraków. Among the topics discussed, among others, is the new version of the government’s ‘Clean Air’ programme, which with new sources of funding starts again on 31 March.
‘Clean Air’ includes funds for the comprehensive thermal modernisation of buildings and the replacement of old, inefficient and atmospherically polluting solid fuel cookers with modern heating systems. We are a region that attaches a great deal of importance to protecting itself from smog caused by household furnaces, yet we still have much to do in this regard. Last year, on the initiative of Marshal Piotr Całbecki, we organised an anti-smog roundtable with the participation of representatives of local authorities from across the region.
Other issues discussed during the meeting include EU funds from the current perspective and the tourism development strategy, as well as proposed changes to the Bus Transport Development Fund. Guests include Deputy Minister for Funds and Regional Policy Jacek Karnowski, Government Plenipotentiary for Counteracting Transport Exclusion Stanisław Bukowiec and Deputy Minister Krzysztof Bolesta from the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
