Duties of the Regional Board

The duties of the Regional Board include, in particular:

  • Implementing the resolutions of the regional assembly (sejmik),
  • Managing the property of the region, including exercising rights over shares and interests held by the region,
  • Preparing and executing the regional budget,
  • Preparing development strategy projects, spatial planning, and regional programs, and ensuring their execution,
  • Organizing cooperation with regional self-governing bodies in other countries and with international regional associations,
  • Directing, coordinating, and supervising the activities of regional self-governing organizational units, including appointing and dismissing their managers,
  • Adopting the organizational regulations of the marshal’s office.
