Region’s banner
The banner’s fabric is square, with sides measuring 100 cm, made double-sided from fabric and attached to a pole. Three sides of the banner, except for the side next to the pole, are edged with a 5 cm wide gold fringe. On the front side of the banner, there are three parallel stripes in the colors (from top to bottom) red, white, and black, with varying widths in the ratio 1.25/5 : 2.5/5 : 1.25/5. In the central white stripe, the emblem of the coat of arms of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship is displayed. In the upper red stripe, the word “WOJEWÓDZTWO” (VOIVODESHIP) is inscribed, while in the lower black stripe, the word “KUJAWSKO-POMORSKIE” appears. The lettering is uppercase and embroidered with silver thread.
On the reverse side, against a silver-white background, there is a laurel wreath made of stylized leaves, embroidered with gold thread. In the corners of the banner are four shields with the coats of arms of the historical lands of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship, in the following order from the top: Kujawy, Dobrzyń Land, Greater Poland, and Royal Prussia.
Descriptions of the coats of arms:
- Coat of arms of Kujawy: A vertically divided shield; in the right red field, a silver half-lion rampant; in the left silver-white field, a black half-eagle.
- Coat of arms of Dobrzyń Land: On a uniform black shield, a bearded head facing forward in a golden open crown, with golden horns and a reversed golden collar shaped like a crown.
- Coat of arms of Greater Poland: On a checkered silver-red field, a black buffalo head facing forward, crowned, with a golden ring in its nostrils.
- Coat of arms of Royal Prussia: On a uniform silver-white shield, a black eagle with a crown on its neck and an armored arm wielding a steel sword emerging from it. The eagle’s beak, tongue, and claws are gold.
In the center of the wreath, there is a Latin inscription: “UNITAS DURAT” (Unity Endures). The inscription is in uppercase letters, embroidered with gold thread.
The banner’s pole is made of natural-colored sirocco wood, 250 cm in length and 40 mm in diameter. It is topped with a finial in the form of the voivodeship’s emblem made of metal, 17 cm high, set on a 10 cm high sleeve. Both the emblem and the sleeve are made of yellow metal. The bottom of the pole is capped with a 10 cm yellow metal base. The pole is two-part, joined at the height of the lower edge of the banner by a 15 cm sleeve. The sleeve under the finial is tied with a ribbon in national colors, adorned with the coats of arms of the counties belonging to the voivodeship. The ends of the 85 cm long ribbon are edged with a 5 cm gold fringe.
