Regional Parliament Session
The final session of the Regional Parliament before the summer recess has been convened for tomorrow (19 June). The agenda includes matters related to the organization of regional rail transport. Councillors will consider a draft interregional agreement entrusting the Wielkopolska regional government with the organization of rail services on the line running through Kcynia and Nakło nad Notecią. The agreement is intended to ensure the continuity and coherence of passenger transport services in this area. The session will be streamed online from 10:00 a.m.
Councillors will also review a report on the region’s social welfare resources. The study includes an analysis of current social challenges, profiles of support recipients, information on infrastructure, staffing, and financial expenditures. The document presents, among other issues, the situation of older people, persons with disabilities, families with children, individuals experiencing mental health crises, people at risk of homelessness, and beneficiaries of social assistance institutions. The report concludes with findings and recommendations concerning future intervention measures in these areas.
The Parliament will also discuss the implementation of last year’s public road transport development plan, a report on the implementation of the Region’s Development Strategy 2030+, and information on the progress of road infrastructure projects carried out by the regional self-government.
Approval is also expected for amendments to the regional budget and the Multiannual Financial Forecast for 2026–2047 proposed by the Regional Executive Board.
The agenda further includes draft resolutions concerning the transfer of ownership of a regional property in Piwnice near Toruń to the Regional Centre for Sustainable Development, as well as targeted grants for local governments. The Municipality of Izbica Kujawska will receive support for the Wietrzychowice Cultural Park, while the City of Toruń will receive funding for the cultural and educational project “(Un)Obvious Voices,” aimed at expanding the city’s local cultural and educational offer.
