Piła Młyn Welcomes Youth Fire Brigades Once Again
Young firefighting enthusiasts from the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region have once again arrived at the training and recreational camp in Piła Młyn. Three camp sessions have been planned in total, during which participants develop their firefighting skills, gain new knowledge, and build friendships with peers from Volunteer Fire Brigade (OSP) units across the region.
During his visit to Tuchola and Świecie counties, Marshal of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region Piotr Całbecki also met with camp participants from the Bydgoszcz, Wąbrzeźno, and Toruń counties.
“This is an excellent place for learning, training, and spending time together. I hope the camp participants will acquire new skills, make lasting friendships, and leave Piła Młyn with wonderful memories. I am also pleased that the centre will soon undergo modernisation thanks to European Union funding provided by the regional government. It will serve future generations of young firefighters even better,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
The training and recreational camps are organised by the Regional Branch of the Volunteer Fire Brigades Association of the Republic of Poland in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region. They are attended by members of Youth Fire Brigades aged 10 to 16.
The programme includes obstacle course training, practising the deployment and packing of fire hoses, identifying firefighting equipment, operating basic firefighting gear, first aid training, and drill exercises. Young firefighters also improve their physical fitness while developing teamwork, responsibility, and discipline.
