LAG agreements – new youth and senior clubs to be created

Within the framework of the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomerania 2021–2027 programme, funding is available for various forms of local community activation. Support is distributed through grant project competitions – calls for proposals are announced by Local Action Groups (LAGs). In the near future, two of them – the Local Action Group “Gminy Powiatu Świeckiego” and the Association Local Action Group of the Dobrzyńskie Communes – Northern Region – will award beneficiaries with agreements for initiatives involving the creation of youth clubs, senior clubs, and additional Local Knowledge and Education Centres in the region.

Local Action Groups are organisations created by residents, non-governmental organisations, and local governments. Their members are close to the local communities, which is why they best understand how to activate them and respond to their needs. The funds we allocate to LAG activities are used for many socially important initiatives,” emphasizes Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

The Local Action Group “Nasza Krajna” will award grant agreements to beneficiaries on 30 June in two competitions. Under the first one, aimed at supporting children and young people outside formal education, three youth clubs will be created. Thanks to grants awarded in a competition focused on social integration, three senior clubs will also be established. The agreements will be signed at the LAG headquarters in Sępólno Krajeńskie.

There are 27 Local Action Groups operating in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region. They function in both urban and rural areas and use EU funds managed by the Marshal’s Office as well as resources provided under the Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) instrument. By entrusting local communities with funds and tools to use them, a form of regional-scale participatory budgeting is being created. The Kujawsko-Pomorskie region is the only one in Poland implementing CLLD on such a large scale.
