Another Step Toward the Więcbork Bypass
Work is underway on the documentation required for the construction of the Więcbork bypass (Sępólno County). Yesterday (April 27), we submitted an application to the voivode for a permit to implement the road investment (ZRID).
“Our bypass construction program is an important part of the ongoing modernization of the regional road network. The new road system in Więcbork will divert transit traffic out of the town, improving safety, traffic flow, and residents’ quality of life,” says Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
The permit will approve a new division of properties, enable the acquisition of land necessary for construction, and provide the legal basis to begin building works. Earlier, it is planned to sign an agreement between the regional government and local authorities defining the division of responsibilities and the rules for financing the project. The investment will be supported, among other sources, by European funds from the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021–2027 program.
According to the prepared documentation, the Więcbork bypass will run west of the town and the village of Witunia along regional road no. 189. The new route will begin at a roundabout on the southern outskirts of Więcbork near the municipal cemetery, where regional roads no. 241 (toward Nakło nad Notecią) and no. 242 (toward Wyrzysk) meet. Along the route, a junction is planned with regional road no. 189 (toward Złotów) and a county road (toward Nowy Dwór). The bypass will reconnect with the existing course of regional road no. 241 (toward Sępólno Krajeńskie) on the northern outskirts of Więcbork, beyond the railway line, which it will cross several kilometers earlier. The Więcbork bypass will be nearly 6 kilometers long.

The scope of the project will also include:
- construction of a viaduct over the Nakło–Chojnice railway line
- construction of three viaducts over municipal roads
- construction of culverts and wildlife crossings
- construction of a vehicle inspection area
- construction of sidewalks and bicycle paths
- reconstruction of the roundabout near the cemetery
- relocation of conflicting utility networks
- construction of technological ducts
- construction of drainage systems
- planting of trees and shrubs
- installation of anti-glare screens
Kujawsko-Pomorskie Bypass Construction Program
The regional government is steadily increasing funding for design and construction works under the regional bypass construction program. It includes routes with a total length of over 70 kilometers. Its implementation in the coming years will cost around 1 billion złoty.
As part of our regional program for 2021–2027, we are allocating a record €136 million for the expansion and modernization of road infrastructure. From national central funds, we have secured 170 million złoty for three bypasses—in Brodnica, Rypin, and Tuchola.
