Magdalena Czerwińska receives the Marshal’s Film Award

Film, theatre and television actress Magdalena Czerwińska, who is closely associated with the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region, has become the latest recipient of the Marshal of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region Film Award named after Pola Negri. She was born in 1978 in Toruń and graduated from the city’s Fifth Secondary School as well as the State Higher School of Theatre in Kraków. During her school years, she was active in Toruń theatre groups “Spięty Teatr Spinaczy” and “Studio P”, where she performed alongside Joanna Koroniewska-Dowbor, Alicja Rapsiewicz and Piotr Głowacki. Her artistic interests also developed through music school education and activities at the Youth Cultural Centre.

After graduating from drama school in 2001, she began her screen career with television series appearances. Wider recognition came through roles in films such as Wojna polsko-ruska, Kret, Bogowie, Pod Mocnym Aniołem and Johnny. Television audiences also know her from series including Belfer, Behawiorysta, Klangor, Wojenne dziewczyny and Infamia.

For her performances in Demakijaż (2009) and Kret (2011), she was twice nominated for the Zbyszek Cybulski Award, presented to the most distinctive young actors in Polish cinema. In 2009, she also received the Flisak Award at the Tofifest International Film Festival in Toruń. She is also the recipient of an award at the 19th Festival of Contemporary Drama for the play “Miłość od ostatniego wejrzenia” and the Grand Prix at the Dwa Teatry Festival for her role in the Television Theatre production “Skutki uboczne”. She was also nominated for the Golden Ducks awards for her performances in Kret and Wojna polsko-ruska.

Magdalena Czerwińska is permanently associated with the Teatr Dramatyczny w Warszawie. She has also collaborated with Teatr STU, Teatr Muzyczny Capitol, Teatr im. Bogusławskiego w Kaliszu and Warsaw theatres including Laboratorium Dramatu, Teatr Na Woli and Teatr Dramatyczny.

The actress will receive the Marshal of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region Film Award named after Pola Negri during the BellaTOFIFEST International Film Festival, which will take place in Toruń from 27 June to 3 July 2026.
