Another Bypass Road to Be Built Soon

We are continuing our regional bypass construction programme. A tender procedure is currently underway for works on the Trląg bypass along Regional Road No. 255 in Inowrocław County. Advanced construction works are also being carried out in Mogilno. The projects are being implemented with support from the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze.

“Every year we modernise around 100 kilometres of regional roads,” emphasised Marshal Piotr Całbecki. “To effectively improve residents’ safety, we must build bypasses that redirect transit traffic away from densely built-up areas. Following analyses and consultations with residents, this solution was chosen, among others, for Trląg. The bypass of Mogilno is already under construction.”

The investment includes the construction of the Trląg bypass on the western side of the village. Existing sections of Regional Road No. 255 connecting with the bypass will also be upgraded. The works will cover a stretch of more than 3 kilometres – from the junction with the construction site of the new roundabout in Broniewice to the cemetery in Trląg. Most of the new roadway will run through agricultural land, which made it possible to avoid any demolitions.

The project envisages the construction of a 7-metre-wide asphalt roadway, along with 1.5-metre-wide shoulders. Hardened access roads will also be built for fields and private properties. Rainwater will be collected through roadside drainage ditches directing excess water into absorption and evaporation reservoirs as well as to Pakoskie Lake.

The bypass will be designed for heavy vehicle traffic of up to 11.5 tonnes per axle, meaning its load-bearing capacity will be increased compared to the existing section. This will make the road structure more resistant to deformation, including rutting. Another important element of the project will be a new vehicle weighing and inspection point. The parameters of the inspection bay were agreed with the Regional Road Transport Inspectorate, which will conduct checks there.

To improve convenience for residents, the project also includes reconstruction of the cemetery parking area. Parking spaces will be paved with concrete blocks and the surrounding area landscaped with greenery. Safety will also be improved by a new pavement connecting the cemetery with the southern part of Trląg. A lit pedestrian crossing with a refuge island will make crossing the road safer.

The investment also includes reconstruction of telecommunications, power supply and sanitary infrastructure, as well as a culvert.

An Important Road and Further Investments

Many other projects are also being carried out along Regional Road No. 255 connecting Pakość and Janikowo. Last year, the reconstruction of the 3-kilometre Rzadkwin – Bławaty section in Mogilno County was completed. Works on the roundabout in Broniewice, Inowrocław County, have also been finished. In Pakość, a radar speed display has been installed. A tender is currently underway for the construction of a roundabout in Rzadkwin.

Kujawsko-Pomorskie Bypass Construction Programme

The regional government is steadily increasing funding for design and construction works under the regional bypass construction programme. The programme includes bypasses with a combined length of more than 70 kilometres. Its implementation over the coming years will cost approximately 1 billion złoty.

As part of the 2021-2027 regional programme, we are allocating a record €136 million for the expansion and modernisation of road infrastructure. An additional 170 million złoty in central government funding has been secured for three bypasses – those of Brodnica, Rypin and Tuchola.
