We’re Heading to Hel!

Latarnik” (“The Lighthouse Keeper”) – our direct summer train to Hel – will set off on its first 250-kilometre journey to the Baltic coast from Bydgoszcz Główna Railway Station on the morning of 27 June. The train to the Hel Peninsula will arrive before noon every day, allowing passengers to return to Bydgoszcz the very same evening. On the same day, we will also launch our other seasonal regional trains – “Rybitwa” (“The Tern”) to Kołobrzeg and “Borsuk” (“The Badger”) to the Tuchola Forest.

“The return of the summer timetable for our holiday train to Hel is great news for passengers. The arrival and departure times of the ‘Latarnik’ will allow travellers to spend as much as nine hours in this seaside destination. This summer we are also offering connections to the picturesque Tuchola Forest and to Kołobrzeg – a popular spa resort on the Western Coast. Railway connections to popular holiday destinations enjoy great interest. I encourage everyone to make use of them again this year,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

Hel and the Tuchola Forest

On its way to Hel, the “Latarnik” will stop in Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia, as well as in the popular resorts of the Hel Peninsula – Kuźnica, Chałupy, Jastarnia and Jurata. The highly popular service will be operated by Arriva RP.

The train to Hel received its name from passengers in a special competition organised by the Marshal’s Office and Arriva RP.
