Marshal Piotr Całbecki met today (10 February) with members of the youth club in Węgiersk, in Golub-Dobrzyń County—one of more than 300 such clubs established in our region thanks to funding from the Marshal’s Participatory Budget. These clubs offer engaging activities for children and young people in their free time outside school hours.

Activities for Children and Young People

“The impressive number of our youth clubs shows a huge demand for this form of activating young people and for spaces where they can develop their passions and interests. It is a good alternative to passive time spent at home and a real investment in young people,” Marshal Piotr Całbecki emphasized in a conversation with journalists.

The total pool of funds allocated to the creation and operation of such clubs amounts to PLN 70 million. Grants are awarded through Local Action Groups (LAGs). Nearly PLN 28 million is already in play.

Under the project, three types of initiatives are financed:

• the creation and operation of educational youth clubs (with artistic, sports, IT-related activities, and activities focused on local culture and identity),
• improving skills aimed at achieving a specific educational goal (e.g. preparation for participation in a scientific competition),
• projects focused on acquiring skills useful for choosing educational pathways and future professional life.

The maximum level of co-financing under our regional programme European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021–2027 is 95% of the project value, with the maximum grant amount set at PLN 100,000.

Activities for Children and Young People

• so far, 317 agreements have been signed for a total amount of PLN 27.5 million,
• PLN 70 million has been allocated for the years 2023–2029,
• clubs are intended for residents aged 6–24,
• the maximum grant amount is PLN 100,000,
• the source of funding is our regional programme European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021–2027.

In the current financial perspective, Local Action Groups (LAGs)—partnerships implementing the idea of the Marshal’s Participatory Budget together with the regional government—have EUR 50 million at their disposal for projects in the field of social policy.

The first group of projects focuses on activities for young people, while the second provides support for seniors.

There are 27 Local Action Groups operating in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region, covering the entire voivodeship. They support grassroots initiatives that increase social activity, develop local services and infrastructure, create new jobs, protect the environment, and preserve cultural heritage. The 2021–2027 financial perspective is another period in which Local Action Groups, together with the regional government, are implementing the Marshal’s Participatory Budget.
