The regional government has purchased forty modern, environmentally friendly and comfortable buses for PLN 125 million, securing support from the National Recovery Plan (KPO). The first batch of twelve vehicles, delivered by ABP Bus & Coach (selected through a tender and representing the Iveco Group in Poland), arrived today (30 December) at the Włocławek depot of the Marshal’s Office – owned company Kujawsko-Pomorski Transport Samochodowy. The new vehicles were officially received by Piotr Całbecki, Marshal of the Region. The buses will begin operating on roads across the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region as early as January.

“Bus services are an important part of public transport organised by the regional self-government. I am pleased that we obtained record support of PLN 91 million from the National Recovery Plan for the purchase of modern and environmentally friendly vehicles – 15 hybrid and 25 electric buses,” said Marshal Piotr Całbecki. “I am proud that we have purchased 25 electric buses – the largest number in Poland – and that our company now has such a modern fleet. Additionally, in Włocławek the county government is purchasing another 18 vehicles, which is an absolute phenomenon not only on a national scale, in terms of the number of electric buses serving regional passenger bus transport in this area. I would like to thank Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska, Tomasz Fic, President of our company KPTS, and Wiktor Plesiński, Director of the Department of Transport, for the implementation of this project.”

“The fleet of our company, Kujawsko-Pomorski Transport Samochodowy, consists of more than three hundred vehicles. Thanks to the newly purchased buses, we will modernise the fleet and improve passenger comfort,” added Vice-Marshal of the Region Aneta Jędrzejewska at the same event.

In the first stage, seven electric buses and five hybrid buses have arrived in our region. Another fourteen will be received at the turn of January and February, and the entire contract will be completed by mid-2026. The vehicles will be introduced onto the roads of Kujawy and Pomorze gradually.

• Gniezno – Rogowo – Żnin
• Nowe Miasto Lubawskie – Brodnica – Toruń
• Nowe Miasto Lubawskie – Kurzętnik – Brodnica
• Radziejów – Wieniec – Machnacz
• Radziejów – Ciechocinek – Toruń

Passengers will travel in comfortable seats equipped with integrated headrests, armrests and seat belts. The vehicles will also feature a passenger information system with display boards, a modern sound system and a Wi-Fi router. The buses purchased by the regional government will also make travel easier for people with disabilities. Each bus will be able to carry 50 passengers.

The depot of the Marshal’s Office – owned company Kujawsko-Pomorski Transport Samochodowy in Włocławek, where the buses were delivered, has undergone comprehensive modernisation.
