Unitas Durat for a Healthcare Manager

A long-serving public healthcare manager distinguished for his service to the region, Leszek Kowalik, Administrative and Technical Director of the Jan Biziel University Hospital in Bydgoszcz, received today the highest regional distinction – the Marshal of the Region’s Medal, Unitas Durat Palatinatus Cuiaviano-Pomeraniensis.

Director Kowalik has worked at the Biziel Hospital for 40 years. He was responsible, among other things, for implementing a comprehensive electronic system for the circulation of information and documents at the institution. On his initiative, a modern IT department was built from the ground up and a range of proprietary IT solutions – tailored precisely to the hospital’s needs – were introduced, including systems for electronic document management.

Within the community of healthcare managers, he enjoys a well-deserved reputation as an expert in the field.

The doyen of the medical management cadre was hosted today (30 January) at the Marshal’s Office by Vice-Marshal of the Region Zbigniew Ostrowski.
