Things are happening on the Mogilno bypass construction site

Advanced work is being carried out on the construction of the second stage of the Mogilno bypass. The investment, which will cost PLN 86 million, will be completed next year.

We are not only modernising, but also building new sections of Kujawsko-Pomorskie roads, which create a functional transport system in the entire region,’ emphasises Marshal Piotr Całbecki. – Thanks to ring roads taking lorries out of the city, streets in city centres can continue to serve local traffic, pedestrians and cyclists.

A newly constructed 1.5 km section of provincial road 254 will connect the existing roundabout in Świerkówiec with the village of Żabno. This will also allow transit to be taken out of the southern part of Mogilno. As part of the investment, a 220-metre flyover will be built over the Panna river. It is also necessary to reinforce weak-bearing soil with concrete piles. A new four-lane roundabout with pavements and pedestrian crossings will be built at the junction with the existing provincial road and the local road to the Bystrzyca River. The construction of culverts for animals is also planned. More than 200 trees and nearly 2,000 shrubs will be planted around the road. The project also includes the construction of a road measuring station with cameras.

Thanks to favourable weather conditions, the contractor (Strabag company) has already carried out part of the work during the winter period. All piles under the supports of the planned flyover are ready. The foundation has been reinforced on the access from Świerkowiec. Similar work is being carried out on the Żabno side. The contractor is also continuing work on utilities (a section of rainwater drainage and a technological duct have been built on the Żabno side, and a collision with a medium voltage line has been removed).

The investment is co-financed with EU funds under the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomerania 2021-2027 programme.

Kujawsko-Pomorskie bypass construction programme:

The regional government is successively increasing the pool of funds for commissioning design and construction work in the regional bypass construction programme. It includes fourteen bypasses with a total length of about 70 km. Its implementation in the coming years will consume one billion zlotys.

In the new EU perspective, we obtained a record amount of over EUR 136 million for the expansion and modernisation of road infrastructure. We obtained almost PLN 170 million from central funds for bypasses. We have also signed a number of agreements on the co-financing of tasks by local authorities.
