The Third Sector Helps the Chronically Ill

Funds for rehabilitation, long-term care, hippotherapy sessions, or respite support for caregivers of chronically ill individuals – these are just some of the initiatives that received support in an open call for proposals for providing material assistance, treatment, or rehabilitation for chronically ill patients. Seventeen non-governmental organizations will receive a total of three hundred thousand PLN for these activities.

“We support third-sector institutions operating in our region in their efforts to assist chronically ill individuals, their families, and caregivers. Rehabilitation, long-term care, and psychological support are essential services that help people regain their abilities,” says Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

Among the organizations receiving funding from the regional budget are, for example, the Bydgoszcz Hippotherapy Society ‘Myślęcinek,’ the Grudziądz Circle of the St. Brother Albert Aid Society, the Solanki Pro Zdrowie Health Resort Foundation from Inowrocław, and the “Światło” Hospice Association from Toruń.

Every year, the Marshal’s Office supports projects carried out by non-governmental organizations in areas such as culture, sports, addiction prevention, social welfare, healthcare, tourism, activities for people with disabilities, and the development of civil society. This year, the pool of funds exceeded 6.5 million PLN, which were distributed through 22 competitions.
