The Strength of Women Leaders of Kujawy and Pomorze – Regional Meeting of Active Women
Yesterday, the 1st Regional Meeting of Active Women “The Strength of Women Leaders of Kujawy and Pomorze” took place. The event brought together leaders from social, local government, business, educational and cultural sectors from across the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region. The meeting was organized by the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Women’s Council.
The event was held under the matronage of Elżbieta Piniewska, Chair of the Regional Assembly, and the patronage of Marshal of the Voivodeship Piotr Całbecki. Its aim was to integrate women’s communities, exchange experiences, inspire social engagement, and strengthen the role of women in public and professional life. Among those attending were Vice-Marshal Zbigniew Ostrowski, Vice-President of the Regional Parliament Katarzyna Lubańska, and Regional Councillor Anna Niewiadomska.
“The region places great importance on cooperation with women’s communities. When a woman sees a problem around her, she does not give up – she immediately looks for a solution. Your activity gives us a sense of security. Thank you for working within your local communities and fulfilling your dreams,” said Deputy Marshal Zbigniew Ostrowski as he welcomed the leaders to the meeting.
Experts and leaders from various fields shared their experiences related to social engagement, civic activity, women’s leadership, and personal, professional and volunteer development. The presentations were inspirational and highlighted the potential of women living in the region.
The second part of the meeting had a workshop and networking format. Participants took part in so-called “speed meetings,” which allowed them to establish new contacts and exchange experiences. At the same time, painting workshops at easels were organized for some participants.
An integral part of the event was also an exhibition of flower-themed paintings, which created an artistic backdrop for the meeting.
The event was attended by representatives of local governments, non-governmental organizations, business, culture, healthcare and education, as well as journalists, artists, social activists and entrepreneurs. Leaders came to Toruń from many cities across the region, including Bydgoszcz, Włocławek, Inowrocław, Grudziądz, Chełmno, Brodnica, Ciechocinek, Żnin and Świecie.
The organizers emphasized that the meeting became a space for inspiration, integration and mutual support among women active in various areas of social and professional life. The event formed part of broader efforts to promote equality, social participation and the strengthening of women’s potential in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region.
During the meeting, the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Women’s Council also summarized the first year of its activity.
