The Parliament meets on Monday

During Monday’s (April 14) meeting, the Regional Parliament adopted a set of financial resolutions enabling long-awaited road investments in Wąbrzeźno and Chełmno counties as well as in Golub-Dobrzyń. It also approved grants for local governments to support sports infrastructure projects. In adopted positions, the councillors appealed to the Minister of Health for funding to expand the main facility of the Regional Oncology Centre and emphasized the importance of the coronation of Bolesław the Brave—whose thousandth anniversary is being celebrated this year—in shaping the Polish state.

Financial support from the regional budget for Wąbrzeźno and Chełmno counties and the city of Golub-Dobrzyń will go toward the modernization of the following roads:

  • Reconstruction of Road 1701C Działowo–Stanisławki in Wąbrzeźno County (23 km)
  • Reconstruction of Road 1632C Lisewo–Mgoszcz in Chełmno County (16 km)
  • Reconstruction of Słuchajska Street in Golub-Dobrzyń

Budgetary grants under the small sports infrastructure development program were awarded to 57 towns and municipalities across the region (full list attached to the draft resolution in the meeting agenda). Separate funding for the construction of gymnasiums and sports halls at primary schools will go to Brodnica, the municipalities of Grudziądz and Drzycim (Świecie County), and the municipality of Gruta (Grudziądz County).

The Parliament reviewed and accepted the following reports:

  • Implementation of the disability support program “Equal Opportunities 2030+”, presented on behalf of the Marshal of the Region by Krzysztof Przewoźny, head of the Disability Integration Department
  • Implementation of the support program for sports clubs, presented by Krzysztof Wasita, director of the Department of Sport and Tourism, on behalf of the marshal

  • Maciej Koziołocki
  • Katarzyna Lubańska
  • Agnieszka Słowik
  • Leszek Pluciński (Chairperson)
  • Paweł Bednarski (representative of the Voivode)

It also selected the regional government’s candidates for the Regional Bureau of the National Health Fund. Recommendations were granted to Agnieszka Lisek-Charkiewicz and Tomasz Miłowski.

The approved amendments to the regional budget and the multi-year financial forecast are related, among other things, to increased funding for events associated with the Year of Kujawsko-Pomorskie People of Science and the The Year of Children & Youth in Kujawy and Pomorze, the organization of the Kujawy & Pomorze 2026 World Indoor Athletics Championships, the modernization of the road network, as well as the planned increase in funding under our regional program European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze, and securing a grant for the expansion of the Pomeranian Philharmonic under the government’s FENiKS program.
