The Marshal’s Development Fund financed the modernisation of the internal medicine ward at the hospital in Aleksandrów
Marshal Piotr Całbecki is participating today in the ceremony marking the completion of a significant modernisation investment at the district hospital in Aleksandrów Kujawski. At a cost of PLN 10 million, the hospital underwent a thorough renovation and was equipped from scratch with an internal medicine ward with intensive cardiac care.
‘The hospital in Aleksandrów, like other facilities of this type throughout the country, plays an important role in the network of public medical facilities in this part of the region. It can be said that it is the “first contact hospital” for the residents of the district. I am glad that we can support the hospital in its modernisation and development,’ emphasises Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
The local internal medicine ward has an intensive cardiac care unit, which means that the medical staff employed here save the lives of patients with acute coronary syndromes, among other conditions. The latest modernisation investment has not only improved hospitalisation and working conditions for staff, but also expanded the bed capacity (from 27 to 37 beds). Purchases included bedside medical gas distribution panels, defibrillators, a bedside X-ray machine and resuscitation trolleys.
The project was financed thanks to a preferential loan granted on favourable terms by the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Development Fund (two tranches of PLN 5 million each) as part of a programme for the modernisation of healthcare facilities authorised by the regional government.
The Kujawsko-Pomorskie Development Fund, which is a regional government company, works to modernise and boost economic growth in the region through its wide range of financing, advisory and innovation and development support programmes. As a regional financial institution, it has a pool of PLN 900 million from the European Funds for Kujawsko-Pomorskie (EFKP), our regional programme for 2021-2027, earmarked for low-interest and partially redeemable loans. The aim is to support development investments, projects in the field of energy modernisation, renewable energy and the transition to a circular economy.
