Support for parents

This year, two hundred thousand zlotys from the Voivodeship budget will be allocated to non-governmental organisations from our region for the implementation of projects in the field of supporting parents in fulfilling their parental functions. Eleven NGOs from Bydgoszcz and Toruń will implement the tasks selected in the grant competition.

Support for parents is a key element in shaping the adult lives of young people, which is why it is so important to strengthen the family’s potential and develop parenting and upbringing skills,’ recalls Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

Among the organisations that have received grants are foundations from Bydgoszcz, such as Wyjść z Cienia, NIE-zwykła, and Toruń’s Parasol Foundation and Archipelag Inicjatyw Foundation.

As part of the projects, parents can take part in parenting skills workshops and therapeutic classes, during which they will learn, among other things, how to build good relationships with their children, learn how to resolve conflicts in the family and how to support and develop their children’s skills.

The regional government supports projects implemented by non-governmental organisations in the fields of culture, sport, solving addiction problems, social welfare, health care, tourism, activities for the disabled and the development of civil society. This year, PLN 6.5 million will be distributed through 22 grant competitions.
