Summaries 2024 – Salutaris with help
More than 700 thousand zlotys went to 2024 to provide assistance to the region’s residents in dealing with the effects of fires, storms and additional support for local volunteer firefighting units. The Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship Salutaris Local Government Association, established on the initiative of the voivodship marshal, has been helping after natural disasters, catastrophes or emergencies for more than a decade.
Established to organize solidarity aid, the Salutaris Association brings together cities, municipalities, and counties, which jointly maintain the provincial Solidarity Fund, an instrument of rapid financial support in situations of natural disasters and catastrophes. One of the association’s recent activities has been to launch collections of money and donations in response to the need to help clean up the effects of the floods in southern Poland. The association’s account has collected more than 45 thousand zlotys.
– Our association is the first of its kind in the country. I am glad that we have managed to build significant social capital around this idea, to awaken the spirit of community and shared responsibility,” stressed Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
The association last year donated a total of PLN 544.5 thousand to municipalities, cities and counties. In twenty cases, assistance was provided to families in leveling the effects of the fires. Material support was provided to help the fire victims, which went, among others, to the municipalities of Lubanie, (Włocławek County), Bobrowo (Brodnica County), Stolno (Chełmno County), Książki (Wąbrzeski County), Białe Błota (Bydgoszcz County) and Golub-Dobrzyń. Financial assistance was also provided to the region’s volunteer fire brigade units, to the tune of PLN 159 thousand. The units were supplied with such items as combat uniforms, oxygen apparatuses, flashlights for helmets and equipment for rescue vehicles.
The association also carries out informational, educational and training projects, as well as study visits and promotional activities.
