Andrzej Suski, Senior Bishop of the Diocese of Toruń and Honorary Citizen of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodship, is celebrating the 60th anniversary of his priesthood. Marshal Piotr Całbecki attended the celebrations in Toruń Cathedral on Saturday (14 June).

Thank you for the fact that throughout all these years we have always been able to count on Your Excellency’s great kindness, that you have always been open to cooperation with our local government, accompanied us in moments important to us, co-organised and implemented so many significant events and initiatives,’ emphasised Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

Bishop Andrzej Suski, a doctor of theology and an outstanding biblical scholar, was ordained a priest on 13 June 1965 in Płock and consecrated a bishop in 1986. Until 1992, he served as auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Płock. He was the first ordinary of the Diocese of Toruń. Since 2017, he has been a senior bishop. He is involved in the development of Toruń and the region, as well as in the creation and support of institutions working for the benefit of others. He is an honorary citizen of Toruń.

In 2017, the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Regional Parliament awarded Bishop Andrzej Suski the title of Honorary Citizen of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodship. Ten years ago, the jubilarian received the Award of the Marshal of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship, granted in recognition of his overall pastoral work and scientific achievements.
