Session of the Regional Youth Parliament

For the fifth time in this term, the Youth Parliament of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region convened today (February 24). During the session, a letter of intent for cooperation was signed with the Faculty of Political and Security Sciences at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. The meeting was attended by the Vice-Marshal of the Region, Zbigniew Ostrowski, and the Dean of the Faculty of Political and Security Sciences, Dr. habil. Bartłomiej Michalak.

– Youth parliaments are a great initiative that brings fresh perspectives and valuable ideas. Your voice complements our view of the region and helps us better respond to the needs of young people – said Vice-Marshal Zbigniew Ostrowski.

The agenda included key topics concerning the future of young people in the region. A motion was submitted to expand the composition of the Regional Education Council to include a youth representative, aiming to strengthen the voice of the younger generation in educational matters. Discussions also covered the organization of events as part of the 2025 The Year of Children & Youth in Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region. An important point on the agenda was the decision to organize the “Student Round Table” – an open forum for debate on education and the challenges students face.

The youth councilors adopted a resolution to establish cooperation with the Youth Council operating under the Parliamentary Youth Affairs Team. This is another step in building a national dialogue among young people. The session also included work on amendments to the parliament’s regulations.

Today’s meeting was also attended by the Regional Executive Board Plenipotentiary, Grzegorz Borek; Director of the RLKS Coordination Department, Bartosz Szymański; Director of the Agriculture Department, Wiesław Czarnecki; and Director of the Regional Parliament Office, Maryla Majtczak.

The Youth Parliament of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region serves an initiative, petitioning, and advisory role for the region’s self-government bodies. The inaugural session of the second term took place on June 19.
