Safe roundabout in Broniewice
The roundabout in Broniewice on regional road no. 255 in Inowrocław County is now open to traffic. The intersection will soon be equipped with lighting. At the end of last year, works were also completed on the Rzadkwin – Bławaty section of the road in Mogilno County.
The construction of the roundabout in Broniewice was combined with the reconstruction of a section of regional road no. 255 from the railway crossing to property no. 300 (approximately 440 meters in length). Additionally, a new section of county road was built toward Janikowo (up to the causeway). The old road running along the railway tracks was dismantled. This solution made it possible to move the new roundabout further away from the existing railway crossing on the Poznań – Inowrocław line.
Within the new three-arm circular intersection, sidewalks and pedestrian crossings were included. A bus bay was also constructed (before entering the roundabout from the Strzelno side). The scope of the project also included the construction of drainage, access roads to properties and fields. Cutting the island on the western side also allows oversized vehicles to pass through. The lighting of the entire intersection will be activated soon.
The construction works, worth PLN 6.2 million, were carried out by Polbud Polak from Mogilno County. The project was financed using a high 95 percent co-financing from the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze for the years 2021-2027.
In December of last year, works were also completed on the expansion of a 3-kilometer section of regional road no. 255 between Rzadkwin and Bławaty. The task involved practically building a new road structure from scratch. Shoulders and bus bays were constructed. An important part of the project was the construction of rainwater retention reservoirs and drainage ditches. Work is still ongoing to finalize the procedures related to supplying electricity to the new lighting of pedestrian crossings and bus stops.
The contractor for the works, worth PLN 16.8 million, was Strabag. The project was financed from the regional budget and from obtained central government funding (over PLN 10 million).
We are preparing for further investments on regional road no. 255, which connects Strzelno with Pakość. The regional budget has secured, among other things, funds for the construction of the Trląg bypass. The works will be carried out on a section with a total length of 3.1 km (from the junction with the construction site of the new roundabout in Broniewice to the cemetery in Trląg).
Record spending on roads
PLN 2 billion will be allocated to the regional program for the modernization of regional roads in the coming years. As part of the European Funds for Kujawy and Pomorze 2021-2027 (FEdKP 2021-2027), our regional program for the new financial perspective, EUR 136 million is being allocated to road investments, including, among others, our regional bypass construction program. For part of the tasks related to the expansion of road infrastructure, we will also use obtained central funding (approximately PLN 170 million for bypasses and about PLN 450 million for the expansion of other roads).
