Responsive Village Leaders

Village leaders in the Inowrocław district received village leader badges yesterday (14 May) emphasising the rank and importance of their function. During the ceremony in Łojewo in the Inowrocław municipality, the leaders of rural communities were met by the president of the regional parliament, Elżbieta Piniewska, and a member of the regional board, Dariusz Kurzawa.

There are 2,304 village leaders in Kujawsko-Pomorskie. The regional government recognises them as important partners who, among other things, support the marshal administration in the implementation of territorial policy. In December 2024, the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship Council of Village Leaders, established by the regional board, was constituted – a 120-member body established on the basis of recommendations from the heads of municipalities, which is an advisory body to the voivodship marshal on matters relating to rural development, including the marshal’s civic budget under the community-led local development mechanism (RLKS) and important projects implemented by local action groups (LAGs).

It is important to us that it is the village leaders – the rural leaders who know best the problems and needs of local communities – who have a significant influence on the management of the money allocated for this purpose,” emphasises Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
