Regional trains are a great option for summer travel

You can comfortably reach the Baltic Sea, Bory Tucholskie and suburban bathing areas throughout the summer holidays by trains financed by the regional government. We invite you to take advantage of the summer offer of our regional passenger rail transport, which will be available until the end of August.

‘Air conditioning, internet, comfort and good company! Cheaper and faster than by car or even bus, with no traffic jams along the way. You can open a book. I think our holiday rail offer is a real hit!’ encourages Marshal Piotr Całbecki.

‘Latarnik’ is our holiday train from Bydgoszcz Główna to Hel, which stops at railway stations in the Tri-City and popular resorts on the peninsula. This offer is also for travellers from Grudziądz who want to take advantage of an additional connection to Laskowice Pomorskie and change to the ‘Latarnik’ at that station.

During the summer holidays, the seasonal weekend train ‘Rybitwa’ from Toruń to Kołobrzeg returned to the tracks, launched thanks to the cooperation of the regional governments of Kujawsko-Pomorskie, Wielkopolskie and Zachodniopomorskie regions. This offer is complemented by the Bydgoszcz-Kołobrzeg train, which currently runs on weekdays (Monday-Friday) throughout the year and will continue to run daily after the summer holidays.

We can reach the West Coast by the regular ‘Barnim’ train, also launched in cooperation between our region and Wielkopolskie and Zachodniopomorskie regions.

Our summer regional trains are very popular with travellers. The hit of the season is the ‘Latarnik’ train, which carried 28,000 passengers in the first month of the summer holidays. We also recorded high passenger numbers on the “Rybitwa” train, which carried over 3,000 passengers in July, and the ‘Borsuk’ train, which carried 2,000 passengers.

Thanks to the cooperation between our region and Wielkopolskie and Zachodniopomorskie regions, we have also launched the ‘Barnim’ train between Bydgoszcz and Szczecin.

A new feature of the summer timetable is our ‘Borsuk’ train, which runs daily throughout the summer holidays from Toruń through the picturesque Bory Tucholskie and Wdecki Landscape Park to Czersk in the Pomeranian Province, stopping at stations in Tleń and Osie, among others.

The popular bathing area at Lake Jezuickie in Chmielniki can be reached by train from Bydgoszcz in about 17 minutes. The route is served by up to 13 pairs of trains, all of which stop at Bydgoszcz Błonie along the way.

Lake Kamionkowskie is the most popular summer destination for the residents of Toruń. The journey time from Toruń to Kamionki Jezioro is 20 minutes, with up to 11 pairs of trains running, which can be boarded at all stations in Toruń.

This year, the regional government is financing regional passenger transport with PLN 240 million and owns three-quarters of the trains serving these connections.
