Regional Harvest Festival Myślęcinek 2025

We celebrated the Regional Harvest Festival. The regional harvest festival held on Sunday (August 31) in Bydgoszcz, which we organized together with the city and county governments as well as the Diocese of Bydgoszcz, was attended by Marshal Piotr Całbecki, President of the Regional Parliament Elżbieta Piniewska, members of the regional board and assembly, as well as parliamentarians, representatives of state administration, local government officials, and delegations from rural communities from across the region. The special guest of the event was Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Stefan Krajewski. It was officially announced that next year’s provincial harvest festival will take place in Rypin. Residents of the city and suburban areas also came to Myślęcinek to enjoy the unique atmosphere created by rural folklore, traditional cuisine, and handicrafts. Guests of our festival also included, among others, the Ambassador of Peru to Poland, Gloria Lissette Nalvarte Simoni de Isasi; Vice President of the Trnava Region in Slovakia, József Berényi; Professor Jim Mazurkiewicz from Texas A&M University; as well as delegations from the town of Bad Dürrenberg in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, and from the Kaunas Tourism Organization in Lithuania.

The official ceremonies began at 11 a.m. with a solemn outdoor mass celebrated by Bishop Krzysztof Włodarczyk, the ordinary of Bydgoszcz. This was followed by the formal part, including speeches, awards, and the announcement of the harvest festival competition results.

Today’s celebration is an opportunity to emphasize how hard and demanding agricultural work is. This year has not been the easiest in many respects. But we know that in farming, there is no such thing as an easy year – because we constantly face problems and challenges. That is why farmers, farm women, and their families are strong, resilient people who know how important the work they do is for all of society, said Harvest Festival Host Krzysztof Tarlach, speaking on behalf of farmers from Kujawsko-Pomorskie.

I thank our farmers for their hard work, for their love of our native land. For the fact that regardless of whether the harvest is plentiful, they work every day, serving with hope and faith that their work will not be in vain. I thank all of you for coming [to this celebration] to thank the farmers for their efforts. It is extremely important that the harvest festival has a dual meaning: spiritual, when we thank God, and human, when we thank those thanks to whom we have fresh, fragrant bread on our tables every day. We must remember the effort and sacrifice behind this bread. This is owed to our farmers, to our rural communities in Kujawsko-Pomorskie, emphasized Marshal Piotr Całbecki in his speech. May our agriculture continue to grow! May the sowing already underway bring abundant crops next year, along with prosperity, joy, and happiness for our countryside in Kujawsko-Pomorskie. God bless!

For the first time, the Marshal of the Province awarded the Sower of Tradition distinction for care of the traditions of rural Kujawsko-Pomorskie. The recipients were:

After the official ceremonies, a large harvest picnic took place in Myślęcinek, featuring a fair, presentations by rural women’s associations, performances by folk bands, an exhibition of agricultural machinery, and displays of Polish army equipment (including a field hospital presented by the 10th Military Clinical Hospital in Bydgoszcz). Later in the afternoon, there was a bridal fashion show by well-known designer Kamila Froelke, who presented a collection inspired by the folklore of Kujawy and Kociewie. The evening star was Andrzej Piaseczny.

The hosts of the regional harvest festival were Karolina Dziarnowska from Zielonka (Sępólno County) and Krzysztof Tarlach from Wałdówko (Sępólno County). Mrs. Karolina, a mother of three, runs a 50-hectare livestock farm with her husband, specializing in beef cattle, and is active in the local community. Mr. Krzysztof, who practices sustainable farming combining modernity with tradition, raises pigs and cattle, and in his free time enjoys long-distance running.
