Every year, with the end of the tourist season, people involved in tourism celebrate their special day. The most dedicated contributors to building the tourism brand of Kujawy and Pomorze were honored today (28 November) during a ceremony at the Rudnik Hotel in Grudziądz. The awardees were joined by Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska, Vice-President of the Regional Assembly Katarzyna Lubańska, and regional councillors Michał Czepek and Robert Malinowski.

“For many years, you have worked tirelessly to build our region’s brand. The result of your efforts is the growing number of tourists visiting our region, including international visitors, as well as record attendance during the annual event ‘Eskapada – Discover the Region with a Guide,’ which also attracted participants from neighboring voivodeships. I am proud of your work. Thank you for your passion and commitment, for turning the word ‘competition’ into ‘cooperation,’ and for being able to see our region as a single, coherent whole,” said Vice-Marshal Aneta Jędrzejewska during the meeting. “It has truly been an excellent year.”

The celebration of World Tourism Day is an excellent opportunity to summarize the year’s achievements and to recognize individuals and institutions contributing to sightseeing, tourism, and the tourism economy in our voivodeship. The Marshal’s medals Unitas Durat Palatinatus Cuiaviano-Pomeraniensis were awarded to:

• Kayak Tourism Club “Bractwo Wodne” of the Bydgoszcz City Branch of PTTK, on the occasion of its 50th anniversary
• Zbigniew Domański, President of the Antoni Słowiński PTTK Branch in Strzelno (Mogilno County)
• Lech Wojciech Krajewski, Vice-President of the Kujawy PTTK Branch in Włocławek
• Prof. Piotr Roszak, Head of the Department of Christian Philosophy at the Faculty of Theology, Nicolaus Copernicus University, Chair of the Program Council for the Development of the St. James Way under the Marshal of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship, Vice-Chair of the Comité de Expertos del Camino de Santiago in Spain
• Ryszard Seidel, Vice-President of the PTTK Branch at the Armed Forces Support Inspectorate Club in Bydgoszcz

Jubilee congratulations were extended to:

• Kayak Tourism Club “ARKA V” in Bydgoszcz, celebrating 35 years of activity
• Cyclists’ Club “Torpedo” in Solec Kujawski, celebrating 20 years
• Mountain Tourism Club “Trawers”, celebrating 15 years

Honorary badges from the Ministry of Sport and Tourism for contributions to tourism were awarded to:
Ewa Banaszczuk-Kisiel, Roman Cegłowski, Ewa Maria Citkowicz, Marcin Ryszard Karasiński, Ryszard Jan Ludkiewicz, Irena Łukomska, Jarosław Pałczyński, Ewa Rapicka, Beata Sawińska, Włodzimierz Sulecki, Maria Świstak.

PTTK Main Board Awards:
PTTK Main Board medals were awarded to Małgorzata Stokłosa, Agnieszka Komorowska, and Marek Wiśniewski. Antoni Ścigacz from the PTTK Branch in Inowrocław received the title of Honorary PTTK Hiking Leader.
