Regional Day 2025 – join us!
Marshal Piotr Całbecki and President of the Regional Parliament Elżbieta Piniewska invite you to the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Region Festival. In addition to the ceremonial session of the regional parliament, the programme includes a meeting of young people in Toruń, concerts featuring Polish stars, and interesting accompanying events.
‘We have a wonderful time ahead of us! I invite all residents and visitors to our region to join in the fun at workshops, picnics and concerts in various parts of the province. These events are full of attractions that bring generations together,’ says Marshal Piotr Całbecki.
The official part of the celebrations will open (Toruń, 3 June) with the presentation of the prestigious Nicolaus Copernicus Fides et Ratio (Faith and Reason) Award, established last year on the initiative of Marshal Piotr Całbecki, which will be received by Prof. Joseph H. H. Weiler, a prominent American lawyer specialising in international and European law, among other fields.
A ceremonial session of the provincial council is scheduled for 9 June (Marshal’s Office in Toruń, online broadcast).
Young people are invited to the second edition of Przystanek JPII ‘Faith, Goodness, Culture’ (12 June, Wola Zamkowa in Toruń) – with workshops, discussion panels and talks with inspiring guests, including traveller Jan Mela and triathlete Jerzy Górski. The day will culminate with a concert by the band Bryska.
On 7 June, a musical spectacle will be held in Chełmża to mark the 80th anniversary of the death of Blessed Father Stefan Wincenty Frelichowski.
There will also be flagship outdoor concerts:
- 7 June – Toruń ‘Under the same sky’
- 8 June – Bydgoszcz ‘Cinema Island’
- 8 June – Włocławek ‘Faience Dreams’
- 14 June – Grudziądz ‘Harbour of Freedom’
- 15 June – Inowrocław ‘Na Soli’
Family picnics with attractions for young and old will be held in Toruń (11 June) and Grudziądz (14 June).
Musical and meaningful: this is what the Song Of Songs Festival will be like, returning on 13-14 June to Wola Zamkowa in Toruń under the slogan Rock Nadziei (Rock of Hope). Mała Armia Janosika, Darek Maleo Malejonek with guests, Arka Noego and Luxtorpeda will perform surrounded by the walls of the Old Town.
As every year, the Regional Festival will also be accompanied by chamber concerts: ‘Pięciolinia Wolności’ (Toruń, 4 June) and ‘Pory Roku z Mistrzem’ (Toruń, 11 June).
The celebrations will also have a sporting accent. On 13 June, the 10th Local Government Football Tournament for the Marshal’s Cup will take place in Mogilno. Basketball fans are invited to watch the matches of the ‘Kujawsko-Pomorskie 3×3 Basket Tour’ tournament, which will take place on 7 June in Chełmno and 15 June in Toruń.
The concert in Jabłonowo Pomorskie is already behind us. On Saturday (31 May), Anna Grzelak, Aga Twardowska, Kacper Andrzejewski and Tadeusz Seibert performed on stage.
